Community Inclusion Specialist- Progressive Art Studio Program
 
Description/Job Summary:
Center for Creative Works (CCW), a Progressive Art Studio program, seeks full-time Inclusion Specialists  (CIS) The CIS works with adult artists with developmental disabilities in our locations in Wynnewood PA, and Philadelphia, taking people into the community. We are a studio art program for neuro-divergent artists, dedicated to the highest quality of work for the artists in our studio and in the community. Our studio provides materials and equipment for a wide range of artistic media, as well as promotion and marketing for our artists. Our community programming engages our participants daily through a wide range of arts and culture activities and other engaging activities.
 
 The Inclusion Specialist position at CCW works with groups of 1-3 individuals At CCW you will have the opportunity to work with interesting, unique artists and makers! The CIS drives CCW vehicles and takes people to destinations that are engaging, educational, and determined together. You will engage people in their pursuit to engage in the broader arts and culture community as well as build relationships and network while joining them on culturally rich and fun activities. Full inclusion in the greater community for these artists professionally expands their creative skills and works to build their contributions as artists in their communities and beyond!  
 
You will help to plan these trips along with the artists and the larger team. Your role will be based out of our studios and the majority of your day will be in the community. The Community Inclusion Specialist (CIS) provides assistance to adults with developmental disabilities. The CIS facilitates daily outings designed to promote community integration, build cultural identity, and connect participants with relevant opportunities to help meet their larger goals within the community. Participants may spend time in the community engaging in anything from cultural activities, museum visits, life skills-based excursions, volunteer opportunities, parks and more. The CIS may accompany up to three people at a time in the community.

We have two full time opportunity available with an exciting new hourly rate: $18.48!

Essential Duties and Functions:
  • Escort, supervise and oversee groups of up to 3 participants into the community on a daily basis to take part in activities and/or events. 
  • Meet the basic needs of our participants while in the community. This may include medication administration, or assistance with other Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required by the participant. 
  • Implement ISP’s (Individual Support Plans) and behavior plans, as needed. 
  • Maintain sufficient knowledge of participants’ ISPs and personal needs required to work with them in a meaningful and productive way. 
  • Provide input for the creation of  monthly budgets for outings and maintain tracking of receipts and expenditures for reconciliation.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including but not limited to daily service notes 
  • Drive CCW vehicles
  • Attend to basic first aid, when needed.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in or significant knowledge of the arts and local arts community preferred
  • One year experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Basic Computer skills using Microsoft Products. 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

This position requires medium lifting requirements, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
